Any company in Complis can be set as a warehouse and used to manage stock and fulfil orders. Stock control is simple and real-time, so there is not downtime for stock-takes and very little training required.
Handheld scanners
Whilst they are not required, it is recommended to use handheld scanners for stock control. This eliminates the possibility of keying errors as moving, picking and despatching stock is all done by barcodes (or QR codes). Complis will produce all the labels you need so your suppliers can label stock before they send it to you, your goods-in can scan it to receipt it, your warehouse can scan the stock and the shelf to put it away, and pickers can scan the stock so Complis can confirm they have picked the correct item.
Stock-Take
When your warehouse is using handheld scanners to manage the stock in real-time there is no need to stock processing orders to complete a stock-take. Not only can you stock-take when it is convenient, while other are picking from it, but Complis can also tell you what to count. Taking into consideration the value, frequency or touches, current stock level and how long since it was last picked, Complis can guide you through counting not only what is most important but considering when the best time is for a product to be counted (it’s quicker when there is less of it, and more important to be correct), saving you time.
Stock Location Replenishment
If you hold stock in a picking location and more of the same in bulk, Complis will advise you what should be replenished before it runs out, giving you time at the end of the day to get prepared for the day ahead, or to have a separate team being given live instruction on what stock to move. Not only can it keep stock in the right place within a warehouse, but it can also keep your stock in balance between warehouses where you use multiple warehouses to fulfil orders for different customers. This can reduce stock and save money, by providing you with intelligent insights.
Stock Ownership
All purchases of products into stock record if the goods are being paid for up-front by a specific customer. Each batch of stock records who owns it, how much it cost and how much it should be charged on at, and a contracted underwritten period. This ensures that all goods are charged for at the right time and at the right amount, and no stock is forgotten about and left unpaid for. This is often a challenge for many businesses, especially procurement and fulfilment specialists such as print management companies, as many legacy warehouse solutions do not cater for these ways of working, especially when it comes to one product having stock of different values, some already paid for and some not.
Stock Obsolescence
Complis not only monitors stock for what you are low on but also for what you have too much of. It could be that you are no longer using any, or you have several years supply, or that the storage is costing more that the product is worth. Complis has the intelligence to alert you to these things and more; so that you have the right amount of the right products in stock at the right time.
Version Control
Everything relating to a product, it’s specifications or artwork, is version controlled. Complis locks down an item once it has been used or communicated in any way and the version number must be increased to change anything. This is quick and easy to manage and ensures that only the correct version of any product can be used. Complis will control if stock needs to be made obsolete, why and when, and prevent it from being picked by mistake. It will event produce labels for you automatically to place on obsolete products when it is time to stop using it.
